Carina, Alexandre, and Diogo chose the last day of the year to do something they had been postponing… for years. Between the hustle and bustle of life and the days passing unnoticed, this experience always remained secondary.

At the end of 2025, they made a promise to themselves:

“This is the year. We’re going to experience this as a family.”
And so it was.

On a cold day, but with a sun that warmed more than the temperature suggested, they arrived at Pátio do Tejo with a mixture of excitement and caution.

The couple had already had contact with horses in their adolescence, but for their son, Diogo, everything was new. The first few minutes were spent with attention, respect, and that natural apprehension of someone stepping out of their comfort zone. But, little by little, something began to change. The rhythm of the horses, the tranquility of the environment, the constant and attentive presence of the guide Pedro all contributed to the body relaxing and the mind slowing down.

No rush, no pressure.
At a certain point, there was no longer any apprehension. Only presence.

The sound of hooves in the sand, the reflection of light on the Tagus, the silence interrupted only by the essential… everything began to take on a new meaning.

Carina describes it simply, yet profoundly:
“The calm of the river brought me a sense of peace and lightness I hadn’t felt in a long time.”

And perhaps that’s it.
In the midst of routine, we forget what it truly means to stop.
To switch off. To simply be.

What seemed like it would be a long ride… passed in an instant. 1 hour and 30 minutes that transformed into a memory.

And in the end, the most beautiful thing:
Diogo, who had never ridden a horse, left captivated.

By the horses. By the experience. By the feeling of freedom.

Now, there are no more postponements. There is a desire to return.
Because there are experiences that are not just lived… they are felt, shared, and carried with us.

And this was one of them. 🌿🐎
